CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – An Uber driver who was pulled in Chapel Hill on Monday faces multiple charges in other counties, including assault with a deadly weapon in Vance County.
Perry Devon Williams, who listed his occupation as “Uber driver” when he was stopped in Chapel Hill, had three warrants in Vance County and one in Guilford County, according to Chapel Hill Police.
A warrant from Oct. 9 in Vance County was for assault with a deadly weapon. On Oct. 10, warrants were issued for communicating threats and simple assault.
Williams was stopped in Chapel Hill Monday. The arrest record from the Chapel Hill Police did not detail why he was stopped. He was served with the Vance County warrants on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for Vance County Clerk of Court said.
